What is Lipodissolve?

Lipodissolve is a non surgical medical procedure that involves the injection of a compound called phosphatidylcholine into small localized fat deposits to dissolve fat. Phosphatidylcoline (PPC) is a naturally occuring enzyme and is the main component of soy lecithin. Lecithin has been medically proven to have the ability to break down fat and reduce cholesterol. PPC has been used for fat removal by lipodissolve physicians for several years now as a non invasive alternative to surgical procedures such as liposuction.

Lipodissolve Mesotherapy Technique

The compound is delivered directly into the subcutaneous fat through multiple microinjections administered over one to three treatments spaced about six weeks apart. The treatment is meant to remove fat and shrink fat cells. The fat is then eliminated from the body through normal waste removal. The desired end result is precise body contouring in localized areas. Lipodissolve is not to be confused with mesotherapy. Mesotherapy uses a mixture of substances including vitamins, herbs, and other medications injected either into the skin or subcutaneous tissues to treat a variety of conditions.

LipoDissolve Procedure

A combination of medications are injected directly to small localized fat deposits, causing the fat to breakdown and emulsify. These targeted fat deposits are then naturally excreted out of the body. The injections are relatively painless, therefore no anesthesia is needed. The procedure will take about 30-60 minutes depending on the areas treated. There is minimal bruising and swelling and the patient can return to his/her daily activities immediately after the procedure.

LipoDissolve VS. Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a procedure that includes injections of medicines directly into the skin. Mesotherapy is used to treat cellulite and other skin conditions. Lipodissolve differs in that it involves injections of medicines deeper into the fat. LipoDissolve is primarily used to decrease localized fat deposits.

Choosing a Lipodissolve Doctor

It is very important that when choosing a lipodissove or mesotherapy doctor that you choose a practitioner that has been trained and licensed in this area. Always choose a health practitioner that has the proper credentials for the procedure you are interested in and make sure they are licensed to practice in their state.

  • Make sure you review the doctors credentials and experience.
  • Ask about the ingredients they are using and how much will be used.
  • Ask about possible risks or complications that could arise.
  • Ask to see before and after photos of patients who have received the procedure.

In the hands of a trained specialist, lipodissolve has been safe and effective in removing fat.
